Gail Carson Levine to read from "A Tale of Two Castles"

Gail Carson Levine

Join us for a fun presentation by Gail Carson Levine, based on her fantasy novel for middle-graders, A Tale of Two Castles, which  takes place in a rich world full of castles, ogres, dragons, kings, princesses, and a very clever young girl.

Twelve-year-old Elodie has forever dreamed of becoming a mansioner--an actress. She leaves home for the city of Two Castles to apprentice to a mansioning troupe, but things quickly go awry. In spite of her great acting talent, Elodie is not wanted by the troupe. But soon, a new opportunity arises. The wise dragon Meenore is in need of an assistant and Elodie is in need of a position.

Gail's first published novel eventually became a cinematic success as well. Ella Enchanted hit book stores in 1997 and scored a Newbery Honor Award the following year. Readers around the world fell in love with the cursed Ella and have kept Gail Carson Levine busy writing new books every year since. Her newest addition to her fairy tale collection is titled Fairest, which follows ugly duckling Aza in her quest for happiness.
